Description

Easy Cherry Pie Bars are a delightful dessert that captures the essence of summer with every bite. Featuring a buttery, crumbly crust and a luscious sweet-tart cherry filling, these bars are not only simple to prepare but also perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted and chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and baking powder. Cut in the cold butter until crumbly. Stir in the egg until combined.
  3. Press two-thirds of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan to form the crust.
  4. Toss chopped cherries with sugar in a bowl and spread over the crust evenly.
  5. Crumble the remaining crust mixture on top of the cherry layer.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown. Cool completely before slicing.
