- 1 lb lean ground beef (80/20)
- 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
- 2 large eggs
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup balsamic vinegar, divided
- ¼ cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp dried Italian herbs
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a loaf pan.
- Sauté onions in a skillet over medium heat until translucent (about 5 minutes). Add garlic and cook until fragrant.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, sautéed onions and garlic, eggs, half of the balsamic vinegar, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and herbs. Mix gently until just combined.
- Shape the mixture into an even loaf in the prepared pan. Pour the remaining balsamic vinegar over the top.
- Bake for 60–70 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Let rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.
