- 12 large pasta shells
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp fresh basil, chopped
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onions and garlic until translucent.
- Add ground beef; cook until browned (7-10 minutes). Drain excess fat.
- Stir in marinara sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella, herbs, salt, and pepper.
- Stuff each pasta shell with the beef mixture followed by the ricotta blend.
- Place shells in a greased baking dish. Pour remaining marinara sauce over shells and top with remaining mozzarella.
- Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes; remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until bubbly.
