  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup whole milk (warm)
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar; let it froth.
  2. In another bowl, mix flour and softened butter until crumbly. Add the frothy yeast mixture and an egg; stir until combined into a soft dough.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle; spread softened butter and sprinkle with brown sugar mixed with cinnamon and drizzle with maple syrup.
  6. Roll tightly into a log, cut into equal pieces (about 2 inches thick), place in a greased baking dish, let rise again for about 30 minutes.
  7. Bake at 350°F for about 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Mix powdered sugar with milk to create glaze; drizzle over warm rolls.
