- 1/4 tsp salt
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix warm milk, yeast, and 1 tbsp sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- In another bowl, combine flour, salt, and remaining sugar. Mix in melted butter and add yeast mixture until a soft dough forms.
- Knead on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled.
- Prepare the filling by mixing apples with cinnamon and remaining sugar.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread melted butter on top, sprinkle with apple mixture, then roll tightly into a log.
- Slice the log lengthwise to reveal swirls. Twist the halves together and place in a greased loaf pan.
- Cover and let rise for an additional 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
