Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted), plus more for brushing
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pistachios)
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ½ cup honey
  • ½ cup sugar syrup

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Gradually mix in bread flour and eggs until a shaggy dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (approximately 1-2 hours).
  4. While the dough rises, mix chopped nuts with cinnamon, nutmeg, melted butter, and sugar.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle; spread the nut mixture evenly across it. Roll tightly from one long edge to form a log.
  6. Slice the log into even pieces (1-2 inches wide) and place cut-side up in a greased baking dish. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Drizzle warm buns with honey syrup before serving.
