Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F / 43°C)
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 tbsp fresh herbs (rosemary or thyme), chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm milk and sugar; stir until dissolved. Sprinkle yeast over top and let sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add melted butter and yeast mixture; stir to form a soft dough.
  3. Knead dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  5. Punch down the risen dough, divide into equal pieces, and roll each into balls.
  6. Mix melted butter, garlic powder, and herbs in a shallow dish; dip each ball before placing them in a greased baking dish.
  7. Allow rolls to rise again for about 30 minutes before baking at 375°F (190°C) until golden brown.
