Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and diced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 5 oz dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 tsp peppermint extract
  • 1/4 cup crushed candy canes

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, mix flour and sugar, then cut in cold butter until crumbly. Press mixture into tart pans and chill for 30 minutes.
  2. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Cool completely.
  3. Heat heavy cream in a saucepan until steaming. Pour over chopped chocolate and let sit for 5 minutes before stirring until smooth.
  4. Stir in peppermint extract. Fill cooled tart shells with ganache, top with crushed candy canes, and chill until set.
