  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin pieces. Toss with lemon juice in a large bowl.
  2. In another bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon until well mixed.
  3. Add the apple slices to the sugar mixture and toss to coat evenly.
  4. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat, then add the apple mixture. Cook for about 10 minutes until fragrant and slightly softened.
  5. Stir in the cornstarch-water mixture continuously until thickened (about 2 minutes).
  6. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely before using or storing.
