  • 1 lb (450g) lean ground beef
  • 2 ripe kiwis, peeled and chopped
  • 1 cup (100g) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped onion in olive oil until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. Add ground beef with salt and pepper; cook until browned.
  4. Remove from heat; stir in chopped kiwis and shredded cheddar.
  5. Roll out one puff pastry sheet in a greased pie dish; fill with the beef mixture. Cover with the second sheet of pastry.
  6. Brush the top with beaten egg for shine. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
