  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted; plus more for brushing)
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit until foamy (about 5 minutes).
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and melted butter; mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  5. Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and arrange them in a greased baking pan.
  6. Brush with melted garlic butter mixed with garlic powder. Let rise again for 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
