Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs pork belly, well-marbled
- 8 slider buns
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 inches fresh ginger, grated
- 3 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Pat the pork belly dry and score it in a crisscross pattern.
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, sear the pork belly on both sides until golden brown.
- Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet until fragrant. Pour in soy sauce and apple cider vinegar and stir well.
- Transfer to an oven-safe dish or Dutch oven, adding enough water to cover half of the pork belly. Cover tightly with foil and braise for about 3 hours until fork-tender.
- Let the pork cool slightly before shredding into bite-sized pieces. Drizzle some reserved braising liquid over the shredded pork.
- Assemble by placing generous amounts of pulled pork onto each slider bun and topping with chopped green onions. Serve immediately!
