- 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped (divided)
- 8 oz fresh button mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, half of the chopped onion, salt, and pepper until just combined. Form into oval patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sear patties for about 3 minutes on each side until browned. Remove from skillet.
- In the same skillet, sauté remaining onions and mushrooms until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle flour over onions and mushrooms; stir well. Gradually add beef broth while whisking until smooth. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and simmer for 3 minutes.
- Return patties to skillet, spoon gravy over them, cover, and simmer for about 10 minutes until cooked through.
- Serve hot with gravy drizzled over the patties.
