Ingredients
  

For the Base
  • 8 ounces penne pasta uncooked
  • 1 pound ground beef lean
For the Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
For Garnish
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped

Method
 

Cooking the Pasta
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
  2. Drain the pasta and set aside, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water.
Preparing the Beef and Sauce
  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and heavy cream, and bring to a simmer. Stir in the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Combining Everything
  1. Add the cooked penne pasta to the skillet with the beef sauce. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time if the sauce is too thick.
  2. Stir in the grated parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
Serving
  1. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
  2. Serve warm and enjoy your creamy beef pasta!
