Method
Prepare the Chicken
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine buttermilk, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken breasts and let them marinate for at least 15 minutes.
Coat the Chicken
- In a shallow dish, mix panko breadcrumbs and shredded cheddar cheese together.
- Remove each chicken breast from the buttermilk marinade, allowing excess to drip off, then coat them in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
Bake the Chicken
- Place the coated chicken breasts on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the crust is golden brown.
Serve
- Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes
For extra crunch, you can double-coat the chicken by dipping it back in the buttermilk and then in the breadcrumb mixture again before baking.
