Ingredients
  

For the Base
  • 1 box vanilla cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
For the Jello Layer
  • 1 box jello (any color) 3 oz package
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup cold water
For the Topping
  • 2 cups whipped cream or whipped topping
  • 1 cup sprinkles Easter-themed

Method
 

Prepare the Cake
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Mix until well combined.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Prepare the Jello
  1. While the cake is baking, dissolve the jello powder in 1 cup of boiling water.
  2. Stir in 1 cup of cold water and let it cool slightly.
Poke the Cake
  1. Once the cake is done baking, remove it from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes.
  2. Use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the top of the cake.
  3. Pour the jello mixture over the cake, making sure it seeps into the holes.
Chill the Cake
  1. Cover the cake with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the jello to set.
Frost the Cake
  1. Once chilled, spread the whipped cream evenly over the top of the cake.
  2. Decorate with Easter-themed sprinkles.
Serve
