Method
Prepare the Cake
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Mix until well combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Prepare the Jello
- While the cake is baking, dissolve the jello powder in 1 cup of boiling water.
- Stir in 1 cup of cold water and let it cool slightly.
Poke the Cake
- Once the cake is done baking, remove it from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes.
- Use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the top of the cake.
- Pour the jello mixture over the cake, making sure it seeps into the holes.
Chill the Cake
- Cover the cake with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the jello to set.
Frost the Cake
- Once chilled, spread the whipped cream evenly over the top of the cake.
- Decorate with Easter-themed sprinkles.
Serve
- Slice the cake into squares and serve chilled. Enjoy your festive Easter Poke Cake!
