Ingredients
  

For the Base
  • 1 pound ground beef preferably lean
  • 2 cups broccoli florets fresh or frozen
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce low sodium recommended
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 inch ginger grated
For the Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons of water
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
For Serving
  • 2 cups cooked rice white or brown

Method
 

Prepare the Ingredients
  1. Gather all the ingredients and prepare them as described in the notes.
  2. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry.
Cook the Beef
  1. In a large skillet or wok, heat sesame oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.
Add Aromatics and Broccoli
  1. Stir in minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for another minute until fragrant.
  2. Add broccoli florets to the skillet, stirring well to combine.
Add Sauce Mixture
  1. Pour in soy sauce, oyster sauce, and rice vinegar.
  2. Stir to combine all ingredients and bring to a simmer.
  3. Add the cornstarch slurry and stir until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
Serve
  1. Serve the beef and broccoli hot over cooked rice.
  2. Garnish with sesame seeds or green onions if desired.
